Responsible for executing mid-level fabrication tests across press, saw, and roll operations. This role ensures quality control, safety compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting production schedules and maintaining accurate documentation. The PSSR III serves as a key contributor to the fabrication team, ensuring parts are processed to specification and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Press Operations:

  • Review and QC stamp issued drawings
  • Verify part dimensions and material specifications
  • Ensure correct part orientation (right/left-handed)
  • Seek guidance for out-of-tolerance parts
  • Prioritize fabrication schedules and staging
  • Track time and quantities accurately
  • Organize and palletize finished parts
  • Maintain CNC records for repeat items
  • Follow equipment and rigging safety protocols
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper PPE usage
  • Record labor and machine run time.

Saw Operations:

  • Prioritize and complete cut lists
  • Verify material size and type
  • Organize staging areas to minimize waste
  • Maintain saw operation and accuracy
  • Mark, de-burr, and palletize cut parts
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Perform saw maintenance and report issues.
  • Follow crane, rigging, and forklift safety procedures
  • Record labor and machine run time.

Roll Operations:

  • Review and QC stamp drawings
  • Verify dimensions and material specifications
  • Ensure proper rolling direction and seam alignment
  • Clean plates and rolls to prevent damage
  • Organize staging and limit handling
  • Document rolling data and create folders
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness
  • Record labor and machine run time
  • Adhere to and actively promote the ANDRITZ 8 Life-Saving Rules in all work activities

Qualifications:

Education, Licenses, & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fabrication operations, including press, saw, and/or roll operations
  • Experience in production or manufacturing within a sheet metal facility preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of safe work practices, including safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Effective time management, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and positively with employees at all levels
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: Required to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, crouch, walk, climb, and balance
  • Manual Dexterity: Required to use hands and arms to reach, handle, and manipulate objects; must have sufficient vision and hearing to safely perform job duties, including close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Lifting/Carrying: Must occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Environmental Factors: Work is primarily performed in a warehouse and manufacturing shop environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, forklifts, and electrical hazards in manufacturing areas. Noise levels are typically moderate to high.

Work Schedule:

  • Due to increased demand, we are starting a swing shift in our WP Ruston, LA manufacturing facility.
  • Swing shift hours are 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM.
  • Employees assigned to the swing shift are eligible for a shift differential.
