PRECISION GRINDING TECHNICIAN (1st Shift)

We are currently seeking a Precision Grinding Technician to join our team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Muncy, Pennsylvania. About the Role

The Precision Grinding Technician receives, grinds, balances, packages, inventories, and prepares refiner plates for shipment. This role inspects products for conformance to quality standards, completes required documentation, and supports continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and lead time. 

 

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and comfortable operating industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive plates and organize inventory.
  • Inspect castings and prepare parts for production.
  • Operate grinding equipment to meet required measurements.
  • Measure and balance products and record results.
  • Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Operate material-handling equipment safely.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Support improvements in safety, quality, cost, and lead time.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Maintain work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve production goals.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to safely work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to use measuring devices and read instrument panels.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift.

 

Preferred

  • Manufacturing, foundry, or metal processing experience.
  • Experience operating cranes, monorails, or other material handling equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance experience.
  • Experience working in a safety-focused industrial environment.
