At ANDRITZ, together we create what's next. Our engineers contribute to technologies, products, and solutions that shape the future of sustainable industries worldwide.
We develop innovative technologies that support a more sustainable future for the pulp and paper industry.
We are now looking for a Start-up Engineer to join our Fiberline team. In this role, you will play an important part in the successful commissioning and start-up of international fiberline projects, ensuring that equipment and processes are ready for safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
As a Start-up Engineer, you will work closely with customers, project teams, commissioning teams, and engineering experts. You will plan and execute commissioning and start-up activities, support customer training on site, carry out contractual take-over test runs, and provide hands-on technical support during critical project phases. This is a role for someone who enjoys working close to the process, solving practical challenges, and making things happen in an international project environment.
What You'll Be Doing
• Create commissioning schedules and plans for fiberline projects under execution.
• Plan and execute commissioning and start-up activities at customer sites.
• Follow up commissioning progress and provide reporting to customers and project stakeholders.
• Ensure that equipment and processes operate according to design.
• Lead or be part in commissioning teams and support safe execution at site.
• Provide hands-on customer training and ensure that the customer has sufficient information to operate the plant safely.
• Carry out contractual take-over test runs and support performance tests when needed.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues at site in cooperation with engineering.
• Provide start-up and standby assistance support to customers after start-up.
• Share feedback from start-ups with engineering, including red pen follow-ups, P&IDs, and participation in lessons learned meetings.
• Take part of certain tasks related to process engineering in close co-operation with project engineering team.
What We're Looking For
You have a technical education, preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technology (process, energy, mechanical). Previous experience in process commissioning, start-up work, or fiberline processes is considered an advantage, but it is not mandatory. More important is your practical mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to work in changing site and project environments.
You enjoy combining technical understanding with hands-on problem solving. You are comfortable working with customers, project teams, and engineering colleagues, and you can communicate clearly in English both in writing and verbally.
What Makes You Successful in This Role
• Good understanding of fiberline processes and equipment.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• A goal-oriented and troubleshooting-focused mindset.
• Ability to cooperate in teams and work independently in a multicultural environment.
• Conflict management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to schedule changes and varying workloads.
• Written and spoken English skills.

• A truly international project and site environment.
• An opportunity to work with fiberline technologies and customer start-ups.
• Close cooperation with experienced commissioning, engineering, and project professionals.
