Job title: Lead Structural Analyst
Helsinki, Uusimaa, FI Varkaus, Northern Savonia, FI
Are you passionate about structural engineering and eager to see your expertise shape some of the world's most advanced industrial technologies? Do you want to take on real technical ownership — driving seismic design and contributing to engineering practices used across international projects?
At ANDRITZ, we continue to deliver innovative solutions to customers globally — at the forefront of engineering technologies that support sustainable industries. If this resonates with you, read on.
Join ANDRITZ Recovery Division as a Lead Structural Analyst and contribute to demanding international projects where advanced engineering, seismic design, and sustainable industrial technology come together.
You will be part of a highly skilled engineering community working with some of the pulp and paper industry's most complex and important products — including recovery boilers, evaporation plants, and white liquor plants. Your work will focus on structural and strength calculations, equipment dimensioning, and design verification that supports safe, reliable, and high-performing customer solutions worldwide.
A central part of your work will be supporting projects and our team in seismic design. You will define project-specific seismic requirements, interpret applicable standards, and translate them into practical design criteria for equipment and structures. You will also be able to influence how we work by developing design guidelines, calculation methods, and engineering practices used across our projects. You will collaborate closely with mechanical engineering and product development teams. Depending on your experience and interests, the role can include technical coordination, development work, and acting as a technical lead in selected projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their expertise, take ownership of technically challenging topics, and help develop our structural analysis and seismic design practices within a leading international technology company.
What we are looking for
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, structural engineering, or a similar field
- At least 5 years of experience in structural analysis and strength calculations
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics and finite element methods (FEM)
- Experience with at least one FE calculation software; Ansys Workbench is considered an advantage, but other tools are also valued
- Experience in seismic design and related standards, with strong motivation and capability to develop further in this area
- Ability to interpret and apply design requirements and standards in international projects
- Good spoken and written English skills
We also value
- Experience in technical coordination or engineering leadership
- Experience in pressure equipment or pressure vessel design and related standards
- Understanding of steel structure codes (Eurocode / AISC)
- An open mindset and willingness to share knowledge and support others
- Interest in developing calculation methods and engineering practices together with the team
What we offer you
- A permanent role in a global technology company and one of the world's leading suppliers of systems, equipment, and services for the pulp and paper industry
- Meaningful engineering work in international projects with real technical impact
- Modern engineering tools and software, with opportunities to develop your expertise
- Leadership opportunities — the chance to act as a technical lead in projects and coordinate external engineering partners
- Development work — influence design guidelines, calculation methods, and engineering practices across the organisation
- Support from experienced colleagues and a collaborative expert community
- Good employee benefits and flexible remote work opportunities
