POSITION OVERVIEW / SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

The Inventory Control & Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining an accurate, organized inventory and for executing all duties related to the shipping and receiving of goods, including the internal transportation and storage of materials. This position performs cycle counts, ensures all receipts and shipments are processed accurately, marks and stages product correctly, and works with internal departments, customers, and vendors to ensure that requirements are shipped in a timely manner. The clerk investigates and communicates issues affecting inventory accuracy, performs all transactions necessary for shipping, receiving, and project work, and picks and delivers products as needed.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and unload shipments using a pallet jack, Hi-Lo (forklift), or crane.
  • Verify shipping documents for completeness and verify conformity of received goods with receiving documents and purchase orders (quantity, specification, quality, etc.). Report any shipping or receiving discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Perform the necessary transactions to receive and ship products and maintain accurate records of all inventory movements and transactions.
  • Perform cycle counts on product and by storage bin location to ensure inventory is counted annually and maintain organized records of the counts.
  • Maintain an organized stock room and warehouse, using FIFO to store raw and finished material and ensuring efficient flow of product for internal jobs and shipments.
  • Pick, pack, and ship parts; create pack lists and pack/box all shipments securely according to established company procedures (seaworthy, airfreight, etc.), including all necessary documents.
  • Tag and identify goods (sales order, work ticket, part number, etc.) according to the correct requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving for ANDRITZ BCN, Inc., including scheduling and loading goods onto trucks as needed.
  • Identify, count, and restock unused product returned from projects and internal repair jobs.
  • Communicate with purchasing when inventory has been depleted, and coordinate with all departments and pertinent personnel to set up product shipments.
  • Maintain inventory locations — deleting obsolete locations and creating new ones as necessary.
  • Assist in performing physical inventory and any other duties as needed per company requirements.

CRITICAL JOB SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) to three (3) years' experience in a similar inventory, shipping, or receiving role.
  • Experience with ERP systems and proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Has, or can obtain, the ability to operate a Hi‑Lo (forklift) and crane.
  • Has, or is able to obtain, a Chauffeur's Driver's License if required.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Highly organized, time conscious, and customer focused.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and ability to use judgment to make decisions independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic business environment; adaptable to change.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented, and teamwork oriented to resolve problems and achieve goals.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • This position reports to the Inventory / Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
  • Position(s) reporting directly to this role: None.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials using appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and shop environments.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
