Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the goal of this position is to facilitate available company resources including Rolls Sales & Service Engineers, Paper Machine Clothing Sales & Service Representatives and Stock Prep Sales Area Managers to maximize the sales of roll covers & mechanicals, spreader rolls, paper machine clothing and engineered wear parts to the industrial and/or paper markets in the assigned region.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Maximizes short and long-term sales in the assigned region.


  • Recruits, trains, and mentors sales and service personnel to provide excellence in customer service and salesmanship through superior technological problem solving, machine optimization services and close customer relationships.


  • Provides regular reporting as required on regional market shares, salesperson performance, plant performance, competitor activity, product requirements and impediments to current and future sales performance to the Vice President of Sales and peers within the company.


  • Communicates and works with all departments within the Company to continually improve the performance of the Company towards reaching stated goals.


  • Analyzes ongoing weaknesses in the assigned region and develops and implements plans to correct deficiencies while capitalizing on opportunities to grow immediate and long-term sales.


  • Ensures that our market share in his/her region is at or above our national average.


  • Monitors and ensures that individual Travel and Entertainment expenses by employees reporting to them are appropriate and stay within budget, where appropriate.


  • Mitigates warranty settlements while maintaining long-term customer relationships.


  • Develops a secession plan including two direct reports capable of replacing him/her as required.


  • Works with the local internal manufacturing units to help improve efficiencies and the delivery of quality products to our customers.


  • Assists the Vice President of Sales in the preparation and administration of yearly sales and expense budgets for their assigned region.


  • Prepares annual employee performance reviews for all direct reports.


  • Ensures that Application Sales Engineers understand and follow all Company policies.


  • Establishes and maintains close customer relationships with major local or national customers, including mills, OEMs and corporate headquarters, located within responsible region.


  • Performs other job-related functions as assigned by management.


Job Requirements:


Degree preferred in Engineering or Business and/or extensive maintenance, production or sales experience within the paper or other applicable industry. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, a proven mechanical aptitude, and an independent worker with a strong entrepreneurial drive. Strong computer skills including thorough understanding of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and general database management. Extensive travel required within the assigned region.
