JOB RESPONSIBILITES AND TASKS
- Observing and adhering company’s health and safety regulations always.
- Understanding and support in Implementation of the shop management system (APS) in the Fabrication shop
- Shop supervision on the need basis in any of the 4 shifts (A,B,C &G)
- Lead the shift of 70-80 workmen and assigned daily task independently.
- Must have good communication skill.
- Able to guide fitter’s team for best practices.
- Able to guide welders to execute defect free welds.
- Marking of weld sizes and sequences before start of welding.
- Self-Inspection of layouts and fit- up components before offering to Quality.
- Self-inspection of welding visuals and sizes before offering to quality.
- Monitoring and recording of welding productivity by various methods.
- Maintain daily production reports with clear output of shift technicians.
- Maintain visualization for progress of components for delivery and cost.
- Ensure proper discipline and productivity during shift.
- Follow procedures and compliances as per define system.
- Must work as a good team player.
- Assist and support in the material management.
- Monitoring of actual man hours in the specific projects.
- Understanding and support in Implementation of continual improvemnets, Kiazen and 5S in the Fabrication shop.
- Understanding and assisting the shop planning duties..
- Review drawings and manufacturing instructions
- Perform Overtime duties as per need and business requirement
( Prescribed Training to perform above tasks will be added support if person is technically qualified and willing)
Qualification Requirement
- Qualification Diploma/ B.tech with 8-10 years of experience in Heavy Fabrication (Machine Fabrication).
- Must be flexible for handling shift supervision independently.
- Able to understand working drawing (Welding symbols and machining symbols).
- Must have sound understanding of welding process (GMAW, FCAW. SAW, SMAW and GTAW).
- Understanding of welding defects and trouble shooting.
- Able to understand the fit-up sequence for complete fit-up in minimum time.
- Able to define welding sequence and control of welding distortion.
- Experience on heat correction methods.
- Hands on experience on marking machining allowances by various methods of water level, Laser level, dumpy level and theodolite.
- Understanding of ASME section IX.
- Must have knowledge of Welding acceptance criteria (ISO5817).
- Working experience in continual improvements, Kiazen and 5S.
- Must have hands on experience in MS- Excel, MS-Word and MS- Power point.
Preferable:-
- NDT Level -2 in VT, PT, MT and UT.
- Working experience in Hydro components.
- Worked in unionise environment.
- Adaptability to changes.
- Worked with ERP system like SAP.
