ANDRITZ HYDRO USA operates in a niche market that provides overhaul and rehabilitation to hydro power plants. The work encompasses a wide range of repair, replacement, and improvement services to restore dependability and sustainability to hydro power facilities, or to increase capacity and/or efficiency. Projects range in size and scope, but routinely span from component assessment, design, and procurement to site installation and commissioning. Hydro power is recognized as the most economic form of renewable energy, and the company is committed to environmentally friendly concepts. 

Role Description:

Major responsibilities are listed but not limited to the following duties:

  • Review contract specifications.
  • Determine costs for RFQs (request for quotes).
  • Review electrical and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Design and draft electrical control systems in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Handle internal and customer design/status review meetings.
  • Write procurement specifications, and factory test and commissioning procedures.
  • Work with purchasing to specify and order equipment.
  • Perform factory acceptance tests.
  • Write O&M manuals.
  • Calibrate instrumentation.
  • Commission and troubleshoot electrical control.
  • Travel and be on-site for several weeks if required.
  • Create factory test and commissioning reports.
  • Perform basic PLC programming modifications.



  • BS degree in electrical engineering.
  • 2-5 years' experience preferred.
  • PE Preferred



  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NETA, and other industry codes.
  • Able to read and interpret basic electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Detailed Oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate other engineers
  • Good Technical communication skills



  • Direct and delegate work to drafters and designers as required.
  • Direct and delegate subcontractors or other foreign subsidiaries
