Job description: 

ANDRITZ Chile requires a Simulation Engineer to be part of our Automation team for current and future projects in Chile and abroad. The professional will be working in dynamic simulation model design and implementation projects as well as prediction models (Digital Twin.)


The Process Simulation Engineer will be involved in the implementation and testing of Operator Training Simulations (OTS) projects. The Engineer will be involved in most of the project phases, starting from initial client discussions to commissioning solutions and start-Ups. The role also requires traveling to client locations (20%).


  • Customer Relations: Work effectively at various levels with clients and consultants.
  • Project Execution: Support and execute projects that involve technologies such as process simulation, dynamic simulation lifecycle, control integration, and all aspects of the operator training simulation.
  • Technical responsibilities: Problem-solving, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification, design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment.
  • Communications: Work closely with the Project Manager to contribute to the development of solutions/products/offerings.
  • Procurement: Supports the Senior Lead Engineer or Project Manager in developing the procurement list, including detailed specifications for any sub-contracted works and services where relevant, along with required delivery dates.
  • HSE/Quality control:  Ensures that all engineering activities are carried out following the Company’s quality control processes and that the relevant standard must be fulfilled.  Adheres to companies and customer HSEQ standards always.
  • Other Duties: Performs other additional specific duties when requested by the business.



  • University degree:  Chemical Engineering, Control Engineering or any Process Engineering related specialization.
  • Relevant experience in simulation and process engineering in industries such as, but not limited to, Mining & Mineral processing, Pulp & Paper, Petrochemicals, Desalination.
  • Excellent communication skills: confident with customer interactions, presentations, and discussions.
  • Languages: English - Medium level; Second language is a plus.
  • Software skills:  Knowledge and experience with dynamic simulation and modeling processes in software such as UniSim, MIMIC, DYNSIM, IDEAS Simulation, and other similar.
  • Knowledge of process control configuration in DeltaV/Honeywell/ABB or other software is a plus.
  • Desire knowledge of statistics, Machine Learning Big Data. The applicant will work with a multidisciplinary team with professionals from different areas of knowledge.
