For our "Quality, Health and Safety Management" department, we are looking for a Health, Safety and Environment Manager (m/f/d). We offer a steep learning curve leading to diverse activities with great responsibility in an international, challenging and fast growing environment.


Your Tasks

  • Support the Management of the Division to define strategies and priorities according to specific needs and within the framework defined by the Business Area and the Group 
  • Being responsible for the achievement of the HSE targets and goals of the Division, ensuring a direct cooperation with the Business Area
  • Coordinating, driving and harmonizing the project related activities of the HSEM of the different product groups, legal entities and locations belonging to the Division
  • Closely monitoring the HSE Performance of the Division, reporting all relevant KPIs to the Management of the Division as well as to the Business Area  
  • Providing functional expertise and leadership on all HSE aspects during all stages of the project, especially during sales, and design phases
  • Being responsible for the correct definition of the project HSE budget during the sales phase, in close cooperation with technical and commercial sales team
  • Being responsible and facilitating the recruitment of the required HSE project staffs in close cooperation with HR
  • Preparing HSE Plans, Risk Assessments and other documentation, according to internal, Customer and local requirements, for all projects executed within the Division
  • Providing sufficient and effective coaching about all relevant HSE aspects to the project HSE staffs, especially newly hired HSE responsible persons
  • Supporting site HSE responsible person to correctly implement all standard ANDRITZ and local specific HSE processes 
  • Organizing periodical HSE meeting (also online) and reviews with the HSE responsible person(s) present on site, in order to inform, consult and coordinate them
  • Executing at least one HSE audit or inspection on the project. 
  • Supporting during preparation and review dedicated detailed HSE periodical reports
  • Participating to root cause analyses for most critical accidents/incidents happened within the project and distributing the lessons learned alerts to the project team and the HSE Business Area Manager for further analysis 
  • Executing HSE trainings for HSE staffs and ANDRITZ project team
  • Closely monitoring the HSE Performance of the Division, reporting all relevant KPIs to the Management of the Division, as well as to the Business Area  
  • Showing in all circumstances visible and unconditioned commitment towards all HSE aspects


Your Profile

  • Completed technical education (HTL) in mechanical, civil, environmental  or chemical engineering; specific education in the area of HSE (industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety and, environment) will be an advantage 
  • Additional specific qualifications and certifications in occupational health, safety and environment are a major plus (e.g. Austrian “Sicherheitsfachkraft”, Nebosh International Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely)
  • Relevant working experience of minimum five years in international business environment within similar industry sector; previous professional HSE experience on construction sites is highly beneficial
  • Good understanding of Austrian and international HSE legislation and regulations
  • Familiarity with the handling of topics related to the management systems (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001) is highly appreciated
  • Fluent in English and German (spoken and written) is a must, any other language is a plus
  • Advanced in MS Office, familiarity with other tools of a “modern Workplace” like SharePoint, MS-Teams
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally (~ 35 %) and also providing direct HSE supervision on projects of short duration (1-3 months)

In Austria we are legally obliged to announce at least a gross monthly salary of € 3.790,58 for this position. Depending on qualifications and professional experience we offer you a market-based salary
