We are currently seeking an Instrumentation Engineer or Technologist to join our Prince George, BC office. This position would be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high quality, innovative engineering solutions that improves plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American customers.

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Audit industrial facilities and develop engineering designs and estimates for electrical instrumentation upgrades
  • Correctly size and specify instruments and control valves for their process application
  • Review vendor quotes and documentation to ensure appropriate instrument application
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation design drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation
  • Develop control narratives, logic diagrams, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), instrument indexes, instrument data sheets and instrument loop sheets
  • Provide technical installation direction to engineering contractors and/or mill personnel


When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Engineering degree or technology diploma; instrumentation focus preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) with EGBC or ASTTBC
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites


Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • Pulp & Paper industry experience
  • Consulting engineering experience; preferably in industrial automation engineering
  • Commissioning, construction, and start-up experience
