ANDRITZ Iggesund Tools is seeking a Field Service Technician who is a self-motivated individual to provide on-site installation, inspection, repair, and rebuild services of equipment in a specified territory. The person will be field based in a location in either Northern AL, Northern GA, or NC.

This is a full time salaried position and includes a company vehicle and full benefit package. The position will be supported through the AIT office in Oldsmar Florida.


 Major Job responsibilities are as listed, but not necessarily limited to the following duties:

  • Provide customers with technical direction and hands on training in the operation and maintenance of wood processing equipment including wood chippers, chipping canters, and mechanical debarkers.
  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance work and on-site inventory management for the associated knife systems and tooling for the above.
  • Extensive travel within the territory. Some weekend work is required, with compensated days off schedule for other days of the week.
  • Completion of standard service reports, call reports and other administrative requirements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain site safe work practices, including wearing of personal protective equipment.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and write English and intermediate math skills are required.
  • Familiarity of MS Office products and email.
  • Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with trouble shooting skills. Ability to use dial indicators and other measuring devices.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and passport (or able to obtain a passport).
  • Work with minimal supervision, and make own schedules
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, and meet deadlines.


The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills and a minimum of 5 years prior experience working in a mill environment assembling, rebuilding, and or operating industrial machinery. Prior experience in Sawmills or Pulp mill wood rooms is a plus.
