Receive, precision grind, balance, box, inventory and ship refiner plates, including completion of paperwork.  Inspect product for conformance to product standards.


•    Transport rough plates from foundry and place into rough inventory.  Use schedule to pull material from rough inventory for production.
•    Following any special instructions on work order, inspect castings and sort into circles; loading onto conveyor for production. Certain small parts may need OD grinding before loading onto track.
•    Package finished parts into proper box, attach labels and insert instructions before banding box.
•    Receive boxed plates and place into finished goods inventory. Follow schedule to pull inventory and prepare paperwork for shipment.
•    Grind sides and OD of segment to fit into a circle with proper gap between segments using snag, belt or creep feed grinders. Inspect segments with gages to ensure proper dimensions.
•    Use Hines balancer and fixtures or BTI balance cell to balance circles and check edge gaps, recording information on quality card. 
•    Participate as a team member to continuously improve safety, quality, reduce costs, and reduce lead time.

•    Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
•    Maintain work area in accordance with 5S requirements
•    Complete all qualifications and trainings as required to achieve and maintain skill level
•    Read and comprehend written and verbal instructions
•    Possess basic math skills, utilize measuring devices, and possess the ability to read and interpret drawings
•    Use fork trucks, floor cranes, high lifts, and other mobile equipment
•    Participate in activities to improve safety, quality, and reduce manufacturing costs and lead times
•    Communicate effectively and work independently or as a team member
•    Accurately complete required documentation.


Requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, welding machines, and manual/remote controlled devices using radio signals.  Physical conditions for positions: Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, ascend/descend stairs, maneuver within tight spaces, and may require lifting in excess of 50 lbs. Must have visual acuity, manual dexterity, ability to endure long hours, and wear required personal protective equipment.  All tasks performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
