Job responsibilities and tasks

  • Ability to coordinate and expedite procurement processes including expediting inbound deliveries, discussing technical and material requirements with vendors, and coordination with Planning, Aftermarket, and Capital on requirement delivery dates.
  • Reviewing open issues with Quality Supervisor and facilitating Material Review Board (MRB) meetings on non-conformance. Follow through with Engineering, Inspection, and Manufacturing on items to be dispositioned for repair, rework, and/or return to vendor.
  • Participate in on-time performance (OTP) meetings, forecasting, and production meetings in order to understand and close the loop on the issues relating to material expedition to fill customer orders.
  • Qualify vendors based on their adherence to drawing specifications and non-conformance %. Develop supplier scorecards to aid QSHE, Engineering, and Procurement in supplier development and facilitate open and honest communications. Participate in  "First Article Inspection[TF1] [PE2] ".
  • Identify critical components for projects and provide support to ensure delivery is kept on schedule.
  • Aid Capital Sales group by reviewing proposal requirements for bought-in items such as Coolers, special project equipment, paint, etc and assist in placing purchase orders.
  • Assist Planning and Category Management to identify product families in order to obtain the best pricing on critical items.
  • Update purchasing lead times and technical data specifications (TDS) in material masters.

Education, professional experience and qualification preferred/required

  • High school graduate.
  • Understand engineering and manufacturing drawings.
  • Critical thinking and Analytic skills
  • Basic math.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Personable and good communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous ERP experience such as SAP
  • Knowledge of equipment similar to that manufactured by Andritz.

 

Physical and Mental Qualifications

 

Work is conducted primarily indoors in an office environment.  Candidate must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, ascend and descend stairways, lift up to 25 lbs., travel between departments, and wear PPE.  Visits to the production floor and customers, where exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, varying temperatures and noise levels, is required.  Visual acuity and hearing required to communicate with all levels of staff and external customers.
