ANDRITZ' Wood Processing Services division is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site product installations, inspections, repairs, and rebuild services of field-installed equipment in their assigned territory within Western Canada. Preference is for the successful candidate to be located in Prince George or Quesnel, BC while being supported through our Kelowna, BC, office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide customers with technical direction and training in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Able to travel extensively within Western Canada.
  • Timely completion of standard service reports, call reports and other administrative requirements.
  • Maintain site safe work practices, including wearing of personal protective equipment.


When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following:

  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a mill environment assembling, rebuilding, and/or operating industrial machinery.
  • Prior experince in sawmills or pulp mill wood rooms is an asset.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and write English and intermediate math skills are required.
  • Strong Computer skills with familiarity of MS Office products and email.
  • Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use dial indicators and other measuring devices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with trouble shooting skills.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and passport (or able to obtain a passport).
  • Work with minimal supervision, and make own schedules.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, and meet deadlines.
