We are looking for a Start-up & Commissioning Manager, Tissue to join our Paper, Fiber and Recycling Divison in Graz or Vienna


Your Tasks

  • Participates and leads the commissioning and start-up activities of Tissue installations
  • Prepares and keeps up-to-date the pre-commissioning and commissioning execution plans (including the schedule and the mobilization of personnel and equipment).
  • Supervises the preparation and leads the execution of performance test runs according to the contractual documentation
  • Assists the Project Manager in contacts with Client representatives for the handover of the plant.
  • Proactively plans and establish site commissioning planning for startup activities and major milestones
  • Analyzes problems within existing systems and implements recommendations for improvement and optimization. Identifies process and technology gaps related to reaching production and quality targets.
  • Prepares the commissioning progress reports to the project management and participates in regular Commissioning & Startup updates
  • Post start-up optimization of plants and processes
  • Trouble shooting and after-sales service
  • Conducting audits and collecting data on tissue facilities and reporting
  • Generates lessons learned reports
  • Support and participation in the pilot plant activities
  • Preparation and implementation of operations training and of the operating manuals with the process team
  • Supports the Sales and Technology Department for the elaboration of the performance guarantees data
  • Support the Technology Department on R&D projects


Your Profile


  • Engineering’s Degree or Associated Degree in Paper, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar background)
  • Completed technical training (mechanical engineering, papermaker or similar)
  • Minimum 5 years of field service experience (or equivalent)
  • Background experience in Design Department will be a plus


Job Skills

  • Ability to browse 2D CAD (3D CAD software will be a plus)
  • Experience in the main operation skills on Tissue paper machine is a must
  • Process diagram knowledge (P&ID, PFD)
  • General knowledge of Tissue paper machine process including:
  • Stock preparation, approach and refining processes
  • Headbox and forming section knowledge
  • Basic understanding of wet-end chemistry
  • Press technologies
  • Yankee hood and burner system
  • Steam system
  • Yankee Coating practices and technologies
  • Winder
  • Auxiliaries (vacuum, water treatment, etc.)
  • Able to read and understand (and to correct if necessary) pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams
  • Experience with compressed air and lubrication/hydraulic unit systems and components
  • Able to supervise the I/O test

  • Ability to work in stressful situation, adaptability and flexibility
  • Ability to successfully work in a team environment
  • High business travel readiness
  • Fluent English language knowledge (other languages will be a plus)
  • Proficient with MS-Office & Knowledge of SAP will be a plus

In Austria we are legally obliged to announce for this position at least a gross monthly salary of € 3.542,60.
Depending on qualifications and professional experience we offer you a market-based salary.
