We are in growth and are seeking an experienced and committed Plant Design Engineer to the Contract Execution Europe Team at our head quarters in Esbjerg, Denmark. You will be reporting to the Manager of PMO Europe in Global Contract Execution.


As our new colleague as Plant Designer, you will support the strategy of Contract Execution of Capital orders towards best contract execution within the responsibility of plant Engineering and layout of plants.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for the documentation of plant design from concept final Customer documentation in a formalized way.



  • The Plant Designer is responsible for plant engineering and plant design - in terms of technical specifications, process and lay out design - from the conceptual design to final handover of the project.
  • The Plant Designer is responsible that both the design and engineering are done of high quality and in accordance with AFB industry best practice standards/level.
  • The Plant Designer must insure technical (part of contract) requirements are considered and fulfilled in the plant design and plant engineering. Plus secure that norms/standards and regulation which are relevant for the plant are followed.
  • The Plant Designer should also possess and contribute the knowledge of how the projects are in line with the overall organization goals.
  • The Plant Design Engineer should communicate and document the project progress, findings and experiences and drive improvements within his/her project which will support AFB operational excellence strategy.
  • Flexibility in work related tasks.



  • 3-D design
  • PFD’s and P&ID’s
  • Good verbal and written skills in English
  • Autodesk 3D Inventor - plant engineering software
  • Siemens COMOS or similar 
  • Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level


  • Give technical input during scoping phase. 
  • Analysis technical contractual requirements.
  • Design/develop PFD in COMOS.
  • Design/develop P&ID in COMOS.
  • Setup technical data in COMOS.
  • Design initial plant design layout and further develop the plant design in Inventor.
  • Create Hole and load plans.
  • Drive and execute plant engineering tasks as 1. Lead Plant designer.
  • Specification for procurement.
  • Specification for production.
  • Be active part of project team activities.
  • Ensure technical documentation is handled/stored as per policy.
  • Travel with Sales to customer visit. Sub supplier visit, AFB companies abroad etc.

Furthermore, you can travel approx. up to 20-40 days per year. - Longer time at one location is possible



B.Sc. Mechanical Engineer, Technical Constructional Designer, or Technical Mechanical designer or similar.

Preferably, you hold a B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.



You have 3+ years of experience in a similar job, and preferably you have specific industry know how within feed or biomass industry.
