RESPONSIBILITES

 

In order to support the market demand for our products and services, our team is looking for a mechanical engineer who specializes in low and high-pressure hydraulic systems and mechanical auxiliaries dedicated to energy production. The candidate’s main responsibilities will be:

  • Participate in active proposals and technical mechanical specification requirements;
  • Design technical specifications of the hydraulic power unit (HPU) and other auxiliary mechanical systems (pumps, valves, accumulators, piping, instrumentation, etc.);
  • Produce functional diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings of equipment;
  • Verify and seal the technical documentation produced under their supervision;
  • Contribute to research and development projects;
  • Supervise manufacturing quality, workshop testing, on-site installation and commissioning of systems;
  • Create & maintain design tools and standards.

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering;
  • 4-5 years of experience with hydraulic systems;
  • Professional engineer registered with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec ;
  • Profile: client approach, teamwork, interpersonal skills, technical leadership, solution-oriented and continuous development;
  • Relevant experience in the design of electrohydraulic power units (asset);
  • Experience in the design of hydraulic and auxiliary systems in the field of hydroelectric or thermal power plant (asset);
  • Practical experience in hydroelectric power plant or with similar systems (asset);
  • Knowledge of 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D design software (Solid Work, Inventor, etc.) to supervise designers;
  • Having taken the MEC 628 course (Design of pressurized fluid systems) at ETS or equivalent (asset);
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and B31.1 piping standards (asset);
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels (asset);
  • Bilingual (English and French);
  • Willing to travel occasionally (approximately 30% per year), mainly within Canada.
