The Role
ANDRITZ Metals USA Inc is seeking Learner CNC Lathe Operator for our facility in Callery, PA. Under the direction of Plant Manager , the Learner CNC Lathe Operator is responsible to set up and operate a lathe in rough and finish operations on rolls etc.
Requirements
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items
- Receives drawings, sketches, instructions, etc. from the foreman or assistant foreman.
- Sets up the late from drawings, sketches, or instructions. Selects proper feeds and speeds. Selects and installs proper tooling.
- Loads rolls into the lathe manually or with the aid of the floor operated overhead crane. Positions and aligns as required.
- Operates lathe in rough turning also finish turning, treading boring tracing, etc.
- Uses measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc. Checks pieces as required.
- Unloads finished rolls manually or with the aid of the floor operated overhead crane.
- Grinds tools, as required.
- Reports defective material or faulty equipment to the foreman or assistant Forman.
- Performs minor repairs and assists in major repairs as required.
- Lubricates equipment and maintains machine and area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Education and Experience
- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
