Machinist - 6" Spindle CNC, G&L

Education: Requires the use of drawings, specifications, a variety of precision measurements and the use of some training in operating a machine tool.

Tools & Equipment: 3 axis and auxillary equipment.  Measurements such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges & misc hand tools.

Experience: 5 + years

Requires the judgement to plan and perform the setting up of a boring mill.

Moderate physical demand is required in setting up the boring mill in loading, positioning and unloading material.

Procedure:

Receives drawings, instructions tapes manuscripts etc; checks tape and manuscript against drawing

Threads tape into the tape reader and checks print drawings and manuscript for reference point.

Loads material into the mahcine with a crane, positions and clamps as required.

Aligns workpeice and spindle manually

Sets readout dials to position, insert tooling and activates sycle button for boring milling drilling tapping.

Changes tools as per manuscript

Checks first peice.

Operate machine select proper speed and setup

Unloads finished peices

Reports any errors defective material or faulty equipment

Performs minor repairs

Moves material to and from machine

Grinds/ tools if required

Lubricates equipment and maintain machine area in a clean and orderly manner.
