ANDRITZ PULP & PAPER has a complete portfolio of systems for the production of pulp, paper, tissue, and board – and in the generation of power from renewable resources. In addition, we offer comprehensive services in support of customer processes: from replacement parts to complete mill maintenance contracts.  The BRANTFORD SERVICE CENTRE is the lead North American facility for repair and service of High Consistency Pulp & Paper Equipment, within a global team of over 29,000 employees in 40 countries.


The Product Manager is responsible to develop, implement and drive his focused Product business. The business includes equipment rebuilds, upgrades, automation and spare parts including the associated inventory. The role includes commercial, technical and selling leadership including an ongoing analysis of the market position in each of these areas. The role requires the aggressive employment of innovation and optimization in all facets of the business.


  • Regional responsibility for profitability and growth of the business in respective product line
  • Commercial, technical and selling leadership (communicating requests) for his products in the areas of project management, engineering/R&D, manufacturing/service, marketing and sales in his region.  The product manager is the entrepreneur for his product (ownership) and the identity to the customer


Their duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze the market to evaluate own competitiveness, market trends and market share
  • Evaluate market price level for rebuilds, upgrades, field service and spares
  • Drive research & development for new products needed in his region
  • Evaluate regional marketing material demands and agree communication channel (film, newsletter, Leaflets, etc.) with marketing and provide content information
  • Support project manager in the repair/make/buy decision for refurbishments
  • Provide an annual forecast and growth strategy in line with the product home
  • Maintain established and new customer relations – assure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute key account plans on an annual basis.  Update if necessary.
  • Participate start-ups on demand
  • Drive implementation of new products
  • Develop new business, prepare mill visit reports, prepare quotations, initiate success story and case studies
  • Communicate availability of second hand equipment in the region for purchase and eventual regional demand with business plan
  • Communicate demand for spare unit (used or new) for exchange programs
  • Willingness to travel 30-50%



  • Post-secondary education in the mechanical field, preferably a Mechanical Engineer or Technologist with equivalent experience
  • Experience with Valmet and Pallmann equipment an asset
  • Sales experience in an industrial setting is a strong asset
  • Knowledge and/or experience within the Pulp and Paper or Panelboard Industry an asset
  • Structured and analytical way of working, high degree of independence in the implementation of tasks as well as a high willingness to take responsibility and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, confident manner as well as assertiveness, flexibility and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluent in manufacturing and fabrication drawings
  • SAP experience an asset
