With minimal supervision, sets up, operates, and maintains various milling and turning machine tools.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs all assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Sets up and operates various machine tools to mill, drill, tap, bore and turn a variety of parts of various alloys and materials.  Performs in process and final inspection as required;
  • Makes suggestions to correct shop floor documents if any changes are needed;
  • Machines and inspects parts to the quality and time standards set by the organization;
  • Reads and interprets all types of complex drawings and blueprints;
  • Uses various types of precision measuring instruments, such as: dial indicator, Vernier’s, and micrometers to ensure close tolerances are achieved;
  • Actively participates and maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work area to 5’S standards at all times;
  • Maintains open communication and suggests improvements to supervision, planning and co-workers;
  • Responsible for keeping accurate paperwork, and job routings at all times;
  • Continuously improves profitability through improving safety, quality, reducing manufacturing costs, reducing lead times, and working as a team member.

 

When considering candidates, we will be looking for the following:

  • Experience setting up, and operating equipment;
  • Excellent machining skills;
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex drawings and blueprints;
  • Full understanding of GD&T;
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometer, dial caliper);
  • Experience driving lift trucks, using cranes, and other mobile equipment;
  • Logical thinker with problem-solving strategies;
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment;
  • Versatile, flexible, have a cooperative attitude to interface with all levels of staff and departments inside/outside the company;
  • Able to work independently and/or as a team member with little to no supervision;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language and grammar is required.
