We are currently seeking a Core Component Designer (m/f/d) in the rotating electrical machines (REM) R&D department at our site in Weiz, on a full-time basis.

YOUR PROFILE

• Completed technical education (HTL, FH, Uni, or similar) in mechanical engineering
• Relevant professional experience
• Design and mechanical calculation knowledge in the field of large rotating electrical machines obligatory
• Good knowledge in 3D CAD – preferably Software Siemens NX, PLM – Software Siemens Teamcenter and MS Office
• Good command of German and English
• Willingness to travel (5%)
• Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills

YOUR TASKS

• Act as a key 3D CAD designer for core components of REM including generators, working closely within interdisciplinary R&D teams
• Design, develop and optimize active parts (magnetic and electric field–relevant components), including salient poles, high voltage bar windings and stator/rotor cores based on engineering input from electromagnetic, insulation, mechanical and ventilation experts
• Create precise geometry models to support advanced numerical simulations (CFD/CHT and FE) performed by calculation engineers
• Prepare high quality 3D models, technical drawings and complete Bill of Materials (BOM) for components used in development projects, prototypes and test rigs
• Collaborate closely with teams across R&D, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning to ensure robust, manufacturable and well-integrated component designs
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, methods and tools

OUR OFFER

We are legally obliged to state the collective bargaining minimum salary for this position, which is gross € 3.616,50 per month. However, we offer a market-based salary depending on qualifications and professional experience in any case.
