PURPOSE/JUSTIFICATION OF THE POSITION

 

1. To work as a competent and qualified Welding Engineer (IWE / EWE)

2. To ensure the organization shall complies with process of welding activities as per the relevant standard (ASME & ISO 3834).

3. To work proactively with team and to establish & maintain a system in line with global hydro regulation.

4. Monitoring and maintain and internal / external audit of ISO 3834 standard.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITY

 

  1. To establish and approve all the WPS, PQR & WPQ
  2. To ensure all welding activities is in compliance with the applicable code, standards and specification.
    • Monitoring the capability of each welder on the basis of Radiographic or UT report
    • Training and development of Welders - Co-ordination with Third party as well as client related to welding and NDT activities.
    • Co-coordinating the activity of welding inspector assistance (WIA).
    • Review of welders certificates, consumable test certificates and calibration certificates of equipment.
    • Ensure that only approved welding electrode, wires and gas are used.
    • Randomly checking welding parameters according to approved WPS (Ampere, Voltage, Travel Speed and Gas flow rate) Checking the adequacy of equipment for preheating, welding, heat treatments and weld examinations.
  3. To ensuring that weld inspection, examination and test are carried out and documented in accordance with the ITP for site activities, verifying the inspection records and validating the relevant results.
    • Initiate NCR and following for correction as required.
    • Monitoring of the welding activities, checking in particular the adequacy of joint preparation.
    • Checking the adequacy of the heat treatment technique and the recorded diagram.
    • Checking the repairs is correctly made.
    • Checking the heat treatment diagrams.
    • Checking the issuance of the document required by contract specification
  4. - Familiar with following welding process :-
    • SMAW-Shielded Metal Arc Welding
    • GTAW - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
    • FCAW - Flux Cored Arc Welding (Semi-automatic and Automatic )
    • GMAW - Gas Metal Arc Welding ( Semi-automatic& Automatic weldingprowled -1)
    • SAW - Submerged Arc Welding
  5. Competencies
    • Extensive knowledge of welding and interpretation skills of standards and codes.
    • Effective team working and networking skills and ability to work as a team and his own initiative.

  6. Qualification/Experience Required:
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Mech.) with specialization of Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE)
    • ASNT Level- II in NDT Testing
    • 4~7 years of experience in relevant field
