General Description

• Supplier Performance Development (SPD) Manager, responsible for leading and managing Supplier Development and Supplier Quality initiatives. This role includes driving supplier performance improvements, ensuring compliance to  Andritz quality standards. Additionally, the position involves managing supplier operations in outstation locations as needed, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Write the purpose for which the job exists

• Skilled and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Inspector with expertise in machining processes and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT). The role involves evaluating and ensuring the quality of parts and components supplied by vendors, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and maintaining quality assurance throughout the supply chain for outsourced Fabricated & Machined components. This position requires frequent travel to supplier locations.

YOU’RE GOOD AT: Write the details of the core area of expertise required to possess by the candidate. 

• Perform dimensional inspections of machined parts using precision measurement tools (e.g. micrometers, calipers, CMM, etc).
• Conduct NDT inspections, including UT, PT, and MT, on machined/welded components to detect material defects or discontinuities.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance through regular audits and inspections.
• Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive improvements in manufacturing processes.
• Support supplier development programs to enhance overall quality performance.
• Product NCR analysis and Corrective / Preventive action implementation through RCA.
• Stay updated on advancements in machining and NDT technologies and standards.
• Good Co-ordination skills with own team, Supplier and Customer.
• Able to work independently and able to provide technical and quality guidance to suppliers

YOU BRING: Experience & Qualifications (Provide information about knowledge required to delve into this role)

• Engineerining Graduate ( Mechanical) with expeience in Machining & NDT Level II in UT, MT & PT and having min 10~12 yrs experience.
• Hands on experience in product manufacturing processes(mainly Machining) and Quality Control in the Hydro power, Thermal Power, Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiar with relevant national & International Code & Standards ( ASME, EN & IS) .
• Quality focal for operational issues surrounding Cost of Poor Quality, process FTY or process failures.
• Good understanding of Quality Documentation/Databook/Dossier.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
• Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively
• Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and quality reporting systems.

PREFERRED: Information about the knowledge required for the job which is not mandatory to possess.

• Welding Process Knowhow.
• Surface Protection techniques Knowhow.
• MS Project knowledge for scheduling of Components.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

YOU’LL WORK WITH: Provide details pertaining to the reporting structure (Direct/Indirect).

• Direct reporting to SPD HOD
• Directly control 5-6 reportees/suppliers ( Supplier Quality Personnel)
