General Description

 

1. To work as a competent and qualified fabrication engineer

2. To ensure the organization shall complies with process of welding activities as per the relevant standard (ASME & ISO 3834).

3. To work proactively with team to avoid any deviation during fit-up, welding distortion.

4. Monitoring and maintain the daily shop activity (edge preparation, fit-up and welding).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITY

 

To ensure all fit-up and welding activities is in compliance with the applicable code, standards and specification.

  • Monitoring the competency of each Fitter and will provide the training accordingly
  • Training and development of Fitters & Grinder man
  • Randomly checking of the dimensions during fit-up and welding.
  • Ensure tools and tackles are available before fit-up
  • Development of fixtures to facilitate fabrication activities
  • Active involvement in design review to make manufacturing friendly

 

To ensuring that weld inspection (Visual & dimension),

  • To ensure the implementation of corrective actions of NCRs and process improvement Monitoring of the welding activities, checking in particular the adequacy of joint preparation.
  • Checking the adequacy of the heat treatment technique and the recorded diagram.
  • Checking the repairs is correctly made.

 

Familiar with the following welding process:-

  • SMAW-Shielded Metal Arc Welding
  • GTAW - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
  • FCAW - Flux Cored Arc Welding (Semi-automatic and Automatic )
  • GMAW - Gas Metal Arc Welding ( Semi-automatic& Automatic weldingprowled -1)
  • SAW - Submerged Arc Welding

 

Qualification

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mech.) ASNT Level- II in NDT added advantage 10~15 years of experience in heavy fabrication shop.

 

Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of heavy Fabrication & fabrication standards and codes.
  • Effective team working and networking skills and ability to work as a team and his own initiative.
  • Excellent Written and interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively
  • The ability to plan, priorities and organize own workload
