General Description
Quality Technician will be responsible for performing Quality/ISO functions relative to raw materials, fabric testing, preparation of compliance documents and maintenance of quality records.

 

JOB RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

  • Inspection of goods and products according to quality and safety standards during all stages of production process
  • Develop and maintain company inspection reports
  • Ensure goods and products comply with company standards as well as federal and state regulations
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working correctly, including calibration and cleaning testing equipment
  • As needed, audit and establish calibration requirements and records
  • Administer Collection of data and draft quality reports
  • Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes
  • Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures
  • Perform manual, visual, and automated quality checks
  • Ensure employees adhere to safety and quality regulations.
  • Report safety and quality infringements to the QA manager and management staff
  • Share observation about procedures compliances and recommend ideas to improve production efficiency
  • Report quality abnormalities to supervisors, managers, and QA manager
  • Ensure the ISO 9001 requirements are met and maintained
  • Prepare Quality Alert reports
  • Interpret work instructions and confers with management/engineering staff to determine quality and reliability of standards
  • Perform special projects as required
  • As determined by QA Manager, Process or Application – Ensure that production deviations are maintained within developed limits and that adequate feedback and recommendations are acted upon prior to becoming a repetitive fabric quality problem.
  • Provide assistance to production with problem solving and technical input
  • Ability to train operators to ensure procedures are current and understood
  • Perform and coordinate Internal Audits and follows up on any finding

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate with good understanding of mathematics and the capacity to interpret, comprehend and execute instructions 
  • Experience in all Microsoft Office software.  (Advanced Excel skills preferred.)
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions coupled with the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (research and evaluating)
  • Ability to comprehend and make sound quality decisions is a must 
  • Must be able to work with shop floor personnel and be able to handle issues as they occur
  • Experience: Minimuim 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
