PRODUCTION VALUE STREAM ENGINEER

General Description

Plays a pivotal role in comprehending manufacturing capabilities and devising streamlined production plans for each piece of equipment, aimed at maximizing resource efficiency. This position demands a profound grasp of industrial engineering principles encompassing production planning, forecasting, inventory management, lean methodologies, and data analytics.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Balancing Monthly Capacity: Optimize work orders biweekly/monthly to ensure 100% equipment utilization, minimizing non-value-added time and meeting monthly production goals.
  • Production Sequencing: Utilize Production Sequencing tools to generate biweekly/monthly production plans for Weaving, Batt Making, and Needling departments.
  • Warp-out Management: Optimize work balance on Weaving Looms to prevent more than 1 Weave Loom warping out in a single week.
  • Quill Winding Department: Daily work management based on weaving needs.
  • Daily Productivity Management: Monitor production adherence and adjust work orders in response to sales needs without compromising monthly production goals.
  • Raw Material Inventory Management: Anticipate material requirements by analyzing consumption rates and future demands. Oversee safe stock levels and coordinate supplier orders to maintain a seamless workflow.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement in scheduling and production workflows to increase plant throughput. Challenge production managers to minimize non-value-added time and setup time between work orders to reach and surpass daily/weekly/monthly department goals.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to generate reports on production performance and capacity utilization. Present findings and recommendations to management, contributing to strategic decisionmaking.
  • Collaboration: Works closely with global planner(s), plant production managers/supervisors, and technical manager(s) to effectively communicate monthly production requirements.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering is desired (or related field).
  • 4+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience in production scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic production environment.
  • Problem solving mind set and proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Any level of Lean or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience working with SAP is a plus.
