ANDRITZ is seeking an Assembler to join our Paper Machine Service team in Springfield, MA. This position is responsible for assembling a variety of products, with a primary focus on building ceramic blades and assembling mechanical components used in paper machine equipment. Work is assigned through production orders and may vary each day based on customer needs. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble ceramic blades and mechanical components for paper machine equipment.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools, including drills, saws, sanders, tape measures, calipers, and/or micrometers.
- Operate mobile equipment as needed, including fork trucks, floor cranes, and high lifts.
- Review and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and work order specifications.
- Measure and confirm products are made to print and/or work order requirements.
- Complete assigned tasks within allotted routing times.
- Accurately complete required production documentation.
- Follow all safety requirements and work efficiently at all times.
- Participate in activities that improve safety, quality, manufacturing costs, and lead times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Work independently and as part of a team with little to no supervision once training is complete
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Must possess basic math skills
- Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools
- Experience reading engineering drawings, work instructions, or production orders
- Experience operating fork trucks, floor cranes, high lifts, or similar mobile equipment
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to learn
