Position Summary

 

Responsible for the purchasing of all part requirements as directed along with coordinating with the Central Buyers on price/delivery and performance to meeting service center delivery commitments. The position requires making sound purchasing decisions based on circumstance. Investigate suppliers. Communication with supplier representatives. Analyze quotations. Work with departments to expedite critical purchases, revise purchase orders, and affect cancellations where required. With the help of Buyer #3, will determine Import and Export procedures and methods for International Shipments related to the Service Center.

 

In addition to the buying summary of responsibilities above, this position also provides Project Management services & execution. These duties include, but not limited to, management of project release, manufacturing process, teardown, installation, startup, and personnel in support of ANDRITZ projects. Project Manager will be responsible for meeting planned cost, meeting delivery commitments and reporting project’s profit margins, failures, and successes at the conclusion of project. The project manager will work within the guidelines established by the Service Center Manager.

 

 

Major Duties - Buyer

 

  • Must be able to handle numerous tasks simultaneously with good documentation skills.

 

  • Will assure that all part requirements are satisfied consistently in support of Service Center and Sales requirement dates.

 

  • Will assure that feedback is given to the appropriate department when failing to meet the requirement date. After using all options, must assure that both the requirement and purchase order due dates comply with each other.

 

  • Will assure correct issues of material through purchase order processing.

 

  • Must be able to review mechanical drawings and determine best sourcing methods for procurement.

 

  • Requirement and Purchase Order due dates comply with each other.

 

  • Will maintain and monitor on-time delivery of responsible parts.

 

  • Will resolve all Purchase Order Problems in a timely manner.

 

  • Must be able to assist in making sound evaluations of vendors based on price, delivery and quality.

 

  • Will be aware of departmental needs or situations, and on own imitative, take appropriate cost-effective actions to meet those needs.

 

  • This position is not intended to be inclusive, and employee will also perform other reasonable related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as requirement.

 

  • Ensures products are charged to correct projects when ordered.

 

  • Issues weekly shortage report for components that have not been delivered for service center projects.

 

  • Must have good communication skills both verbally and written.

 

Major Duties – Project Manager

 

  • Understanding contractual commitments and scope for complete execution. Manage selected repair or rebuild projects for the Service Department which Includes overseeing projects from Kick-Off till Closure with additional guidelines established by the Service Center Manager.
  • Ensure complete packing slips are developed, communicated and used by all logistical and FS technicians executing the work on-site

 

  • Coordinate all logistical requirements including adequate tools for service of customer’s equipment based on Service Technician schedules on-site.

 

  • Review and ensure billing plans are executed, and projects are closed which includes final project closing meetings reviewing planned vs actual margin reviews.

 

  • Report weekly project updates to ANDRITZ internal team.

 

  • Collaborate across teams to define goals and commitments to timelines and deliverables.

 

  • Assign tasks, milestones, and key dates to appropriate resources within company.

 

  • Ensure all Project personnel, including sub-contractors meet or exceed local, state, or Federal Safety Regulations. – Collaborate with Safety to ensure company safety policies, DEP, and OSHA regulations are met.

 

  • Understand State laws applied to ANDRITZ employee prevailing wage rules and ensure followed

 

 

Basic Skills

 

Should be adaptable and have the ability and desire to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good computer skills. Firm knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Knowledge of working with Microsoft Office. Excellent attention to detail. Must understand Inco Terms. Must have good organizational skills. Experience at reading basic engineering drawings and parts manuals. Strong Knowledge of SAP for quotations and evaluation of margin analysis. Ability to identify requirements & timelines for scheduled services of equipment.

 

 

Relationship

 

Reports to Service Center General Manager with daily interface with Engineering/Planning, Shop Supervisor, Customers, Field Service Team and all other applicable Andritz Representatives.  

 

 

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands of this position require the ability to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
