The Rebuild Technician plays a key role in supporting ANDRITZ Feed & Biofuel’s service center operations by restoring and rebuilding critical pellet mill components to factory standards. Reporting to the Service Station Manager, this position ensures product quality, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced service environment.
Responsibilities may include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Evaluate used pellet mill dies to determine repair requirements.
- Disassemble and reassemble pellet mill roller assemblies using hydraulic presses and related tools.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to handle and transport components safely.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and verniers.
- Track materials used per shop order, monitor inventory, and requisition replacement parts as needed.
- Package dies and rollers for return shipment to customers.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Keep the work area organized, clean, and compliant with safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives. Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies
- Support other manufacturing operations as required; perform other duties as assigned
- Continuously seek improvements in safety, quality, lead times, and cost reduction through teamwork and personal initiative
When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Capability to operate or obtain certification for forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, and willingness to learn.
Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:
- Experience using hydraulic presses.
- Knowledge of CNC machining and programming.
- Familiarity with pellet mill maintenance and roll rebuilding.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or repair environments.
- Demonstrated ability to improve process efficiency or quality.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
- Work performed in a plant/mill environment with dust, noise, and temperature variations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform frequent standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, balance, and visual acuity required.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and wear required PPE.
- May require extended working hours based on operational needs.
