We are currently seeking a CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage) Business Development Engineer to work in our Air Pollution Control Division in our Alpharetta, GA office. This position will be responsible to develop the market entry strategy for the ANDRITZ Carbon Capture technologies in North America in cooperation with the VP of the Product Group and the Regional Head for Air Pollution Control. Further for selected projects the position shall lead the proposal preparation and the selling process.

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

 

  • Assess CCUS market and opportunities for Andritz’ CCUS business in North America (US and Canada)
  • Quantify the key markets for Carbon Capture with a clear focus to industrial applications.
  • Elaborate a business plan for Carbon Capture in North America in cooperation with the Carbon Capture product group and regional management.
  • Actively coordinate sales strategy for proposals and aspire finding competitive solutions for vendor packages, in order to minimize direct cost of proposals and maximize Andritz probability to win the order
  • Enter and maintain opportunities in Andritz’ CRM tool up to date
  • Assess RFQs of client and prepare documents for bid/no bid meetings
  • Support process design of proposal with process engineering department, to select best technology & sizing of equipment in close cooperation with Andritz’ CoC for Carbon Capture technologies
  • Work with various product homes (outside US) to align product applications
  • Prepare and submit bid packages to vendors and obtain quotes for such equipment
  • Prepare bid comparison sheets for received vendor quotations
  •  
  • Coordinate preparation of engineering packages with various engineering departments, in order to prepare required documents for the proposal (layout drawings, PFD/PID, BoQ, estimates, time schedule, etc.)
  • Prepare proposal documents to be submitted to the client
  • Consult and negotiate with customers to prepare specifications, explain proposals, and present engineering reports.
  • Provide support in estimation for the proposal price, i.e. preparation and continuous update of bid comparison sheets, estimation of PM & engineering hours, etc.
  • Support preparation of Quotation Review Documents for Senior Management
  • Support contract negotiations with the client, if necessary at client’s offices
  • Prepare and attend Sales hand-over meetings for new contracts in force
  • Participate customer visits, if necessary

 

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

 

  • Bachelor or Master of Science with with practical experience in the Carbon Capture industry of at least 5 years
  • Project engineering, project management and sales experience on capital projects ranging from $100k to $50M
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English)
  • Practical knowledge of North American standards, knowledge of DIN / ISO / EN standards is a plus
  • Legally entitled to work in the USA
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 20-50%).
  • Open minded and willingness to work in cultural and geographic diverse teams.
