Our Automation & Digitalization team is currently seeking a Junior Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our Richmond, BC office. In this role, you will support the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality and innovative electrical and control systems that enhance plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American customers. This position is ideal for an early‑career engineer eager to grow technical skills through hands‑on project work, mentorship, and exposure to a wide range of industrial applications.
What You Will be Doing
Here’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:
- Design and prepare portions of tender and construction packages, including drawings and simple specifications, supporting senior engineers in review and coordination.
- Create electrical control and instrumentation system documentation, such as P&IDs and device lists, following established templates and direction.
- Contribute to DCS and PLC/HMI programming by configuring basic logic, graphics, and I/O under guidance from senior staff.
- Participate in system checkout, testing, and commissioning, assisting with field measurements, documentation, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Assist with industrial facility audits and help gather field data for preliminary engineering designs and cost estimates.
- Support the design of MV and LV electrical power systems, including developing drawings for electrical rooms, cable routing, and equipment layouts under supervision.

What We’re Looking For
When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma program in electrical engineering (or similar)
- Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English)
- Registered as an EIT in British Columbia
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%)
Salary range 70,000 to 83,000; commensurate with experience, based on a 37.5 hour work week.
