The Opportunity:

Under the guidance of the Regional Director, the Business Development Manager will drive profitable growth in the MM industry for Digital Solutions (DS) and Automation Services (AS). This role involves identifying new business opportunities, expanding the Company’s geographical reach, developing new Automation & Digitalization capabilities, offering and a field-based services, and building and maintaining relationships with key corporate MM customers.

 

Location: Flexible (Vancouver Metro area preferred, but will consider Calgary or the Greater Toronto area)

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the Mining & Mineral Processing industry.
  • Initiate, build and enhance relationships with new and existing customers and strategic partners.
  • Drive sales growth through effective forecasting, planning, and execution of sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to define, develop, and execute sales growth strategies and marketing campaigns to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to recommend new products and improvements.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value of ANDRITZ’s automation solutions and leading-edge technology to all levels of the customer organization.
  • Track and maintain effective, professional communication with all internal and external stakeholders throughout the business development and sales cycle.
  • Represent the company at industry events and network with professional organizations to establish the presence and reputation of the company.
  • Develop and grow the Automation and Digitalization business in Western Canada, with possible travel across North America.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial offers to customers.
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials and preparation of online and print marketing campaigns.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automation, digitalization, optimization, and/or simulation, preferably in mining and mineral processing.
  • Experience in technical capital sales with a demonstrated track record of accomplishment, including experience in forecasting, CRM usage, account planning, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent presentation, relationship-building, and sales skills.
  • Resourceful, self-managed, self-motivated and goal-driven, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel (estimated 50%) within North America; valid driver’s license and passport required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Metallurgy, Automation, Electrical, or similar).
  • Established network of contacts in the mining and mineral processing industry.
