APPLICATION SALES ENGINEER

 

Working location: USA Field- OHIO 

 

General Description
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the goal of this position is to sell roll covers, bowed rolls, and machine clothing to 
the industrial and/or paper manufacturing market

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
• Optimize operating efficiencies of customers’ equipment utilizing proprietary modeling software programs. 
• Ensure trouble-free runs of roll covers, bowed rolls, and machine clothing through proper selection of products to 
meet application needs and follow-up inspection services during machine down-days. 
• Work with customers to solve machine operating problems through innovative applications of roll covers, bowed rolls, 
machine clothing, and services. 
• Develop strong inter-reliant relationships with customers through quality on-site service and social interaction. 
• Provide customer feedback to manufacturing plants, applications team, research, and sales management. 
• Manage the post-sale activities of an order to ensure timely deliveries of a quality product. 
• Mitigate warranty settlement costs while maintaining customer relationships and confidence in AFR cover, bowed 
roll, and machine clothing products. 
• Communicates field activity, including sales opportunities, inter-company items, and competitive issues to the 
appropriate Regional Manager. 
• Manage an expense budget within the guidelines provided. 
• Take ownership of a specified territory and devise strategies to meet sales objectives. 
• Perform other job-related functions as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Education and Experience: Degree in Engineering or Business preferred, and/or extensive maintenance, production, 
or sales experience within the paper or other related applicable industry
• Languages: English
• Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a proven mechanical aptitude, and a strong 
entrepreneurial drive
• Requires strong computer skills, including a strong understanding of Word, Excel, and general database 
management
• Extensive travel within the assigned region is required.
