Summary of the role

 

We are currently recruiting a Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist to join our QHSE team. Using engineering and procurement documentation, project specifications, and inspection and test plans, you will supervise the implementation of client quality requirements and standards to ensure that manufactured hydroelectric components/equipment are in compliance with Andritz’ high quality standards.

This position is geared towards long‐term career development within our organization.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

 

 

  • Analyze ordering specifications, technical documents, industrial designs, inspection and test plans, and ensure that these documents give a complete and accurate description of Andritz’ compliance requirements to suppliers ;
  • Through inspection and monitoring, track the implementation of procedures and inspection and test plans (ITP) ;
  • Supervise the inspections and client hold points ;
  • Manage quality compilations/reports (Quality Reports) ;
  • Follow up on supplier non‐compliance and the implementation of corrective or preventive actions.
  • Perform in‐depth analysis of critical non‐compliance (8D – Root Cause Analysis) ;
  • Actively participate in supplier/sub‐supplier qualification through quality audits, and participate in client audits as needed ;
  • Support the development of control tools or procedures, and quality assurance ;
  • Participate in design reviews with suppliers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

 

  • Degree in Engineering, technical Engineering or other relevant field ;
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Quality Assurance ;
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, CWB, ASME or other standards, an asset ;
  • Knowledge of common inspection tools (Vernier, micrometre, etc.) ;
  • Knowledge of automated measuring methods (FARO/laser tracker/CMM, etc.), an asset ;
  • Ability to read mechanical or other drawings, an asset ;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ;
  • Effective communication skills (with internal and external clients) ;
  • Totally available to travel both within and outside Canada ;
  • Functional in English (spoken and written) ;
  • Excellent work ethics ;
  • Education or knowledge in health and security an asset.
