The site manager will be the primary contact with customer site management. Will be responsible for all operational site matters (costs, schedule, quality, health & safety, environment). The site manager will need to maintain site team effectiveness (leadership, communication, teamwork, coordination). Responsibility of promoting and safeguarding the interests of ANDRITZ Hydro at the site.
The following responsibilities form the core of this role in our Canadian team.
• Has overall responsibility for site installation and commissioning activities. This will include compliance with safety and environmental protection requirements, respect of technical quality requirements, schedule management, costs management and project risks management;
• Has overall responsibility for installation planning and strategy and coordination with the client and other contractors on site;
• Has overall responsibility for the preparation of the mobilization plan, installation schedule and sequence and updating of the progress/development of the plan as the work is completed;
• Responsibility for site kick-off and progress review meetings. Provides prompt reports and documentation on deviations (cost, schedule, quality) to Project Manager;
• Provides technical inputs and strategy for claim management;
• Anticipates risks and measures to mitigate impacts from deviations to the plan;
• Prepares site logs and maintenance of daily log book;
• Prepares overall weekly site reports.

• Five to ten (5-10) years of experience on construction site or equivalent experience;
• Strong experience on large construction sites as site manager;
• Technical college degree and/or significant related experience;
• Hydro product knowledge;
• Project Management skills and ability to handle multiple complex tasks at a time;
• Effective communication skills (oral & written);
• Proven leadership ability within a team context;
• Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity;
• Professionalism and tact in representing the company to our internal and external customers;
• Knowledge of French, spoken and written (an asset);
• Available to travel & work on site for extended periods.
