You will be part of the Human Resources and Payroll team.  You will be responsible for the execution and control of payroll activities, initially for construction employees, as well as for salaried and hourly employees of ANDRITZ Canada.  You will also participate in optimizing existing procedures and systems.

 

The following responsibilities form the core of this role in our Canadian team.

 

  • Manage and process payroll, according to the established cycle, for construction employees using Maestro software, as well as for salaried and hourly employees, using the ADP WFN system;
  • Verify time sheets to ensure completeness, accuracy and appropriate authorizations; 
  • Interpret collective agreements to ensure accurate application of terms and conditions;
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the hiring of new employees and terminations according to legal, company and collective agreement requirements; 
  • Analyze and optimally resolve problems affecting the payroll department to prevent their recurrence;
  • Actively participate in process improvement using technology and automation;
  • Manage the distribution of payroll statement for construction employees;
  • Coordinate payments and other aspects of CNESST, WSIB, etc.;
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end reports, and submit to the unions;
  • Follow-up with government authorities;
  • Prepare records of employment and ensure data compliance and integrity;
  • Contribute to the year-end process, and prepare T4/T4A, Relevé 1 and summaries;

•    College diploma or equivalent experience in payroll or accounting;
•    Member of the National Payroll Institute, an asset;
•    Experience in payroll processing in the construction industry;
•    Mastery of accounting principles and government regulations;
•    Mastery of ADP WFN payroll system, an asset;
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel;
•    Demonstrated mathematical skills and abilities;
•    Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize at all times;
•    Demonstrated ability to work rigorously and methodically;
•    Unwavering integrity and respect for confidentiality;
•    Excellent communication (verbal and written) and teamwork skills;
•    Fluency in both French & English (oral & written). High level in French required.
