Summary of the role 

 

The Local IT Business Relationship Manager (“Local IT BRM") is the local IT-Accountable towards a Hydropower company. He/She provides a Single Point of Contact ("SPOC") for the Business-Management, Process-Owners and acts as the proactive Advisor for IT-Services & -Functions.

 

Local IT BRM’s are nominated by local management in coordination with the global BRM / Head of IT for Hydropower-Group. They report functionally to the Global BRM / Head of IT and operationally to their local management. Regular meetings, reporting, and participation in the Hydropower BRM Network are mandatory to ensure alignment and effectiveness.

 

The following responsibilities form the core of this role in our Canadian team. 

 

  • Acts as an IT-Advisor and SPOC for Business-Area-/Division-Management and Local Business-Process-Owner
  • Informs about Optimization- and Innovation-Opportunities as well as upcoming IT/Technology-trends
  • Develops internal partnerships out of (internal) customer-relationships
  • Oversees the Application-Architecture of the Local Company (supported by the Group IT Application-Teams) & is involved in the Change-Management 
  • Oversees the capturing, development, assessment, prioritization & selection ("Business Value Mgt") of demands from and together with the Local Company
  • Reviews & aligns the project-budget for Application- / Change-Projects and investments in his area of responsibility
  • Consolidates & reports the business-demand for IT-Management and represents it in the appropriate meeting-settings
  • Aligns the local business-demand with the responsible Hydropower Group BRM and jointly hands it over to IT-delivery for fulfillment
  • Reports and discusses the IT-service portfolio with the Business
  • Participates in Steering-Committees for Business-Projects with IT-involvement
  • Reviews & analyzes the Quality of IT-Services for the Business
  • Pro-actively assesses and addresses (internal) customer satisfaction
  • Manages (internal) customer complaints and escalations jointly with the responsible Hydropower Group BRM

 

In case that a local Hydropower Company is holding an ISMS (“Information Security Mgt System”) Certificate (according to ISO 27001) this role shall also encompass the following responsibilities of the LISO (“Local Information Security Officer”):

 

  • Creation, management and continual improvement of the local ISMS regulations and procedures
  • Management of information security records
  • Management of information security risks
  • Establishment and adaptation of the local ISMS organization
  • Budgeting for the operation of the ISMS and implementation of security controls
  • Ensuring that the defined information security objectives can be reached
  • Planning and initiating information security awareness trainings
  • Definition and measurement of KPIs for information security (gathering the KPI’s)
  • Advising management and business functions on information security issues
  • Reporting the current state of information security and security incidents to top management
  • Supporting the Management of major information security incidents (Accountability will be with the Group IT-Security-Team)
  • Initiating and reviewing of information security controls
  • Planning & Managing information security audits
  • Preparing and performing the management review with the ISMD (“Information Security Management Director”)
  • Ensuring compliance of information security controls to ISO/IEC 27001, local laws and regulations as well as stakeholder requirements
  • Involvement in the process of planning, delegating and implementing of changes to ISMS
  • Maintaining and regularly testing the disaster recovery plan to ensure that all business-critical systems and processes are up-to-date and functional

 

The above LISO-tasks will be executed with active guidance and in close alignment with the Group-IT Auditing Team.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and across cultures.
  • Recognized credibility within the local organization.

 

Additional for “LISO”-Role: 

 

  • Practical experience with ISO 27001 and its implementation and operation in industrial environments is advantageous.
