The Quality Inspector will join the hydro generator manufacturing team at the ANDRITZ Peterborough Generator Center. This modern facility specializes in coil and bar manufacturing, primarily serving North American projects.

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for the achievement of high-quality standards in all manufacturing processes. They will be accountable for the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures.  They will propose creative solutions to new and existing projects, and ensure a consistent and reliable inspection process. They will be the champion of continuous improvement and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
•    Implementation of the independent quality checks (4-eye principle) during production;
•    Ensure implementation of the quality control plan during shifts;
•    Manage the hold tag process on the shop floor;
 
Main Tasks
•    Conduct reliable inspections and tests according to test instructions;
•    Perform Hold Points inspections in the shop;
•    Conduct Pre-packing final inspection;
•    Set-up and maintain test equipment;
•    Issue Quality Records according to acceptance criteria;
•    Escalate non-conforming products to the Quality Lead;
•    Validation of project-specific measuring tools;
•    Perform Incoming inspection of material;
•    Monitor the implementation of in-process checks;
•    Support and training of operators in measurement competency.

•    Secondary or Post-Secondary education;
•    Industrial construction experience, an asset;
•    Familiarity with industrial tooling, an asset;
•    High sense of urgency;
•    Organizational skills;
•    Good data entry skills;  
•    Experience with MS Office;
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills;
•    Prior Quality Inspection work experience an asset;
•    SAP an asset;
•    Motivated, self-starter;
•    Ability to troubleshoot;
•    Demonstrated multi-tasking ability;
•    Team-player
•    Knowledge of French language, an asset;
