Purpose Statement
Under the direction of Manager or Team Leader, performs duties required to machine components produced in our manufacturing facility. Produce components per engineering prints with safety and quality as their focus. Multiple alloys and materials will regularly be used.

 

Job responsibilities and tasks
Sets up and operates a variety of CNC and manual grinding and lathe machines. Fits and/or assembles parts by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and set up various CNC machines.
  • Report any errors, defective material, or faulty equipment.
  • Operates machine, select speed and setup. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance to maintain and equipment.
  • Inspects work and completes inspection forms.
  • Handles materials as necessary, loading and unloading.
  • Maintains an organized and clean work area.
  • Provides in-house shop support as directed by supervisor.
  • Work together with programmer to ensure machine does not sit idle.
  • Duties may not be all inclusive

 

Education, professional experience, and qualification preferred/required

  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain work area in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Complete all qualifications and trainings as required to achieve and maintain skill level.
  • Read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Possess basic math skills, utilize measuring devices, and possess the ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Use fork trucks, floor cranes, high lifts, and other mobile equipment.
  • Ability to cope with an environment where priorities can change in a moment’s notice.
  • Communicate effectively and work independently or as a team member.
  • Extensive attention to detail.
  • Trade school, Associate degree or similar set gained through work experience.

 

Physical and Mental Qualifications
Requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, welding machines & machining centers. Candidate required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, ascend/descend stairs, maneuver within tight spaces, climb on machinery, and routinely lift to 50 lbs. Must have visual acuity, manual dexterity, good hearing, coordination, balance, ability to endure long hours, excellent problem-solving skills, and wear required personal protective equipment. All tasks performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
