General Description

The role is designed for a  SR- Sales & Marketing with the primary objective to develop the System Rehab business. This means the position is crucial for expanding and strengthening the company's presence and capabilities in the Service & Rehabilitation segment, particularly focusing on system rehabilitation projects within the sales and marketing domain.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Write the purpose for which the job exists

  • Acting as Sales Manager for Service & Rehabilitation.
  • Visiting power houses to generate RFQs (Requests for Quotation).
  • Coordinating with the proposal team for technical input and submitting offers upon receiving market enquiries.
  • Preparing cost sheets considering both internal and external factors.
  • Creating techno-commercial offers for customers.
  • Visiting sites to understand customer requirements and suggesting changes with technical team support.
  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of commercial terms (payment, LC, risk, insurance, logistics).
  • Negotiating with customers.
  • Using Excel-based tools and reading technical drawings.
  • Willingness for exhaustive travel.
  • Preferably having hydro power/turbine experience.

1.Technical Knowledge in Hydro Power & Turbine Systems

  • Hydro Power/Turbine Experience: The candidate should have substantial experience in hydro power projects, especially in turbine and generator technologies, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of such equipment.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Engineering: A strong foundation in mechanical/electrical engineering principles relevant to power plants is essential.
  • Ability to Read Drawings: Competency in interpreting technical drawings and schematics is required.

2. Commercial & Sales Acumen

  • Commercial Terms: Deep understanding of commercial terms such as payment terms, letters of credit (LC), risk & opportunity assessment, insurance, and logistics.
  • Techno-Commercial Offer Preparation: Ability to prepare and present techno-commercial offers tailored to customer requirements.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation competencies to close deals and manage customer expectations.

3. Customer Relationship & Market Knowledge

  • Networking: Proven ability to network within the market, build and maintain relationships with key clients, and understand customer needs.
  • Customer Engagement: Experience in visiting customer sites, understanding requirements, and suggesting technical solutions with support from the technical team.

4. Project & Proposal Management

  • RFQ Generation & Coordination: Responsible for generating RFQs, coordinating with proposal teams for technical input, and submitting offers.
  • Cost Sheet Preparation: Ability to prepare cost sheets considering both internal and external factors.
  • Site Assessment & Solution Development: Skills in conducting site assessments, analyzing equipment status, and proposing operation and maintenance policies.

5. Functional Competencies

  • Excel-Based Tools: Proficiency in using Excel and other analytical tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Reverse Engineering & Design: Experience in reverse engineering and design management for retrofitting new items in existing systems.
  • Technical Proposal Preparation: Experience in preparing technical bids and contract documents for hydro turbine projects.

6. Leadership & Teamwork

  • Team Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor teams, set objectives, review performance, and facilitate ongoing training.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills for internal coordination and client-facing interactions.

 

YOU BRING: Experience & Qualifications (Provide information about knowledge required to delve into this role)

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5 - 10 years in the power sector, preferably with hands-on experience in hydro power/turbine projects.

PREFERRED: Information about the knowledge required for the job which is not mandatory to possess.

  • Preferably for Design back ground in Hydro Power Plant.

YOU’LL WORK WITH: Provide details pertaining to the reporting structure (Direct/Indirect).

The Person will directly report to Vice President -Sales & Marketing
