General Description

As a Plant Engineering expert you are fully responsible to deliver a fully functional Hydro Power Plant to the customer in accordance with the contract and within the given budget. This critical role commences with the Project Start Phase and accompanies all phases of the till end of Warranty Period.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and address all interfaces and accelerate project timelines while maintaining the highest quality standards. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and drive continuous process improvement initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Plant Engineering:

  • To deliver a fully functional plant to the customer in accordance with the contract and within the given budget.
  • Focus on engineering activities needed in the engineering process and interface management to ensure water to wire plant integration.
  • To provide competency and engineering to cover complementary plant requirements.
  • To ensure efficient interface management in order to attain a composite plant approach involving our products and customer works.
  • The role commences with the “Project Start Phase” and accompanies all phases of the “Contract Execution Process” till end of “Warranty Period”.
  • Focus on management of general requirements common for all systems such as definitions of templates on documents, design conditions (e.g. voltage, levels, earthquake requirements etc.), cabling and instrumentation, cubicles in order to attain a harmonized project approach and provide clear boundaries.
  • Continuously monitors the interfaces between cross-functions, raises alarms and acts timely to arrest the mismatches.
  • Management of General Requirements Common for all Systems, i.e. Issue Design templates, KKS numbering system.
  • Issue of guidelines and documents, i.e. Design Conditions, project information, issue cubicle manufacturing guidelines, guidelines for auxiliary devices.
  • Execute Division of Work, Design Interface Schedule, plant equipment list, cabling interfaces.
  • Conducts Design Review for Overall Plant, i.e Interface Coordination, handling of equipment.
  • Review of Documents, i.e SLDs, consumer list, signal list, heat loads, phase sequences, grid codes.
  • Management of Design Freeze, design change requests, structure of project end documentation.
  • Issue of technical directives to project team from time to time in order to comply with the plant concept.

 

Engineering Excellence: Strong technical knowledge of Power Plant preferably Hydro Power Plant including good interface knowledge on Electrical and Mechanical Balance of Plant (EBoP) packages, SCADA, fair knowledge of Turbine and Generator. Clarify and communicate design details with customers, addressing any queries or concerns. Provide technical support to the cross functions.

Customer Focus: Prioritize customer satisfaction and maintain a strong focus on quality.

Troubleshooting skills: Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills. Offer technical solutions to project sites during erection, commissioning, and warranty periods.

Cross-functional collaboration: Interface with cross-functional teams including design departments, procurement, quality control, and erection & commissioning to ensure seamless integration of engineering activities within defined time limits and to expedite project progress.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts in engineering processes and actively seek opportunities for design optimizations without compromising contractual or project requirements.

Independent Project Handling: Take ownership of the Plant Engineering of multiple Hydro Power Projects, ensuring they meet project-specific requirements.

Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.

Timely Delivery: Monitor and enforce adherence to design schedules, ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) of engineering components.

Adherence to standards and Quality Assurance: Ensure that the design and engineering of packages meet guaranteed and contractual requirements while adhering to relevant industry standards, regulations, policies, and procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Qualification: BE/ BTech in Electrical Engineering.

Experience: 8- 12 years
