General Description
As a Mechanical Design Expert, you will play a crucial role in the successful design and engineering of the Mechanical Balance of Plant (MBoP) systems and equipment for Hydro Power Projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, starting from turbine auxiliaries, and hydraulic components of the governor to ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Mechanical Design and Engineering:
Both basic and detailed engineering of Mechanical auxiliary systems for Hydro Power Projects. Prepare Design Memorandums, Schematics, and Calculations ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Proficiency in various Mechanical Balance of Plant (MBoP) packages, including Cooling Water Systems, Drainage and Dewatering Systems, Compressed Air Systems, Fire Fighting Systems, HVAC Systems, and Oil Pumping Unit (OPU) Systems ensuring alignment with overall technical project requirements.
Engineering Excellence: Good technical knowledge of Mechanical Systems. Clarify and communicate design details with customers and cross-functional teams, addressing any queries or concerns. Excellent equipment sizing and selection skills. Utilize engineering software and tools like AutoCAD and other equipment sizing tools and ensure a "first-time-right" approach.
Customer Focus: Prioritize customer satisfaction and maintain a strong focus on quality.
Cross-functional and supplier collaboration: Interface with cross-functional teams including procurement, quality control, and erection & commissioning to ensure seamless integration of engineering activities within defined time limits and to expedite project progress.
Timely Delivery: Monitor and enforce adherence to design schedules, ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) of engineering components.
Adherence to standards and Quality Assurance: Ensure that the design and engineering of packages meet guaranteed and contractual requirements while adhering to relevant industry standards, regulations, policies, and procedures.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Qualification: BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 03-05 years
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, like AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of national, and international standards and regulations.
