Contract Manager (CCM)

Responsibilities:

Ensure that project team enforces contractual rights, gets compensations for losses and damages due to delays, disruptions, and other causes, defends against claims and exploits potentials to secure additional scope and profit.

Main Tasks:

  • Establish and deploy a common claim and change order strategy together with the project management.
  • Contract analysis in the project start phase about claim and change order potentials and risks.
  • Support the core project team in preparing change proposals.
  • Setting up the formal procedures for and drafting of correspondence in the project.
  • Ensure that contemporary records (Daily Logs, LMS Deviation Records, As-built Schedule, Handover Certificates, Photos, Reports, MoMs, Notifications, etc.) to evidence or preserve contractual rights are created and kept.
  • Close collaboration with the Project Scheduler and the Commercial Project Manager to carry out delay analysis and quantum (cost) analysis.
  • Ensure that documentation/proof of claims be done in a structured way including compilation of back-up documents for negotiations.
  • Advise the team in contract and claims management, including project documentation housekeeping.
  • Active support in claim negotiations with the customer and subcontractors, together with project team.
  • Support with contractual agreements with customer, subcontractors and other contractual parties.
  • Prepare best / worst case scenarios together with Legal and support dispute resolution cases; be they mediation, conciliation, arbitration or litigation.
  • Provide feedback and lessons learned regarding claims issues.
  • Engage, timely, with management to raise unresolved contractual risks.
  • Contribute to streamlining contract management and governance activities.
  • Ensure that all contract-related activities follow the company's rules and standards.
