Summary:

 

Reporting to the Manager of Materials Development, this position is responsible for execution of lab activities, mechanical testing, physical testing, and sample machining.

 

Required Experience and Capabilities:

 

  • Conduct physical, chemical, and mechanical tests on rubber, polyurethane, and epoxy materials using various laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Prepare and machine samples for testing following established procedures and protocols.
  • Record and analyze test data accurately, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to execute on designed experiments.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and findings in technical reports and presentations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment within the laboratory.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Office programs such as: Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

 

Additional Desired Experience and Capabilities:

 

  • Familiarity with epoxy and/or polyurethane casting equipment.
  • Familiarity with two roll mill rubber mixing.
  • Experience collaborating with production teams to accomplish R&D targets.
  • Experience with processing of rubber, polyurethane, and/or epoxy materials.
  • Experience with two roll mill rubber compounding.
  • Experience with vertical mills, band saws, hydraulic presses, or similar machining equipment.

Job Requirements:

 

This position requires either a Chemistry/Materials Science Bachelors Degree with 0-3 years of professional experience or Lab Technician associate degree with 3-5 years of professional experience. In addition, knowledge of computers and skilled in the use of Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Power Point are required. No travel required.
