Purpose Statement

Continue to develop and drive the non-OEM, competitive equipment segment of the Low Consistency Refiner service business with responsibility to promote growth in the refiner service market. The role will focus on strategically driven business growth in this non-OEM market segment and will require continued reverse engineering, product expertise, service sourcing/development, and parts sourcing. The role includes technical and selling leadership including an ongoing analysis of the Andritz market position in each of these areas. The role requires the aggressive employment of innovation and optimization in all facets of the business.

 

Responsible for the profitability and growth of the competitive equipment product line to include but not limited to:

  • Work with support staff to ensure efficient execution of service projects and the development of customer base

  • Provide direction to the sales force (equipment and services), develop proposals, product costing, and pricing with the LCRP Manager & Site Manager

  • Provide product training to sales force and RPM’s to enable them to explain and sell our product and services

  • Travel to mills / customers required; participate in service work and system optimization as required

  • Execution of projects incl. service and all quality aspects. This includes taking the lead in the make/buy decisions related to the Product Line that have direct impact on the competitiveness and profitability of the Product Group

  • Responsible for gross margin management and cost control

  • Maintain annual budget with the assistance / feedback of the sales force and LCRP Manager/Site Manager/Regional Manager.

  • Strategic planning with action items involving the regional and global product team to include the establishment of long- and short-term sales objectives. Identify annual training needs for the salesmen.

  • Develop marketing and promotion strategies and drive research & development, and the implementation of new products with the regional and global product team.

 

Education, professional experience and qualification preferred/required

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or minimum of 5 years‘ experience.

  • Pulp and Paper Machinery experience required.

  • Paper Mill leadership experience highly desired. 

  • Ability to help identify customer needs, build new customer base, and maintain relationships for future business.

  • High capacity of strategic, logical, and methodical thinking, and independent decision-making skills for mechanical problem solving.

  • Must be organized, able to manage time, prioritize, pay close attention to detail, maintain a high degree of accuracy, and work as a team member or independently while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

  • Experience in management of commercial contracts

  • Experience in negotiations and claim management

  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Word Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, regard confidentiality and safety requirements.

  • Represent Company interests and be sensitive to customer satisfaction (understand sense of urgency and importance of follow-up).

 

Physical and Mental Qualifications

Position performed in an office and/or remote home office) environment. Frequent visits to mills and manufacturing facilities are required. Environment: Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, remote controlled devices using radio signals. Physical conditions for position: Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, ascend/descend stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs. Must have visual acuity, excellent mobility, good hearing, manual dexterity, good balance, ability to endure long hours, and wear required personal protective equipment. All tasks performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
