OBJECTIVE
Responsible for performing the following activities: identifying projects in alternative markets within the pulp and paper industry; supporting customers in the development of their specifications and project scopes; coordinating the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, and Estimating departments during the proposal phase; and preparing technical and commercial proposals. Coordinates with process experts to identify the most appropriate technology for each specific application.
FUNCTIONS
- Identify opportunities to develop commercial strategies.
- Develop customer relationships and manage the customer portfolio (segmentation, priorities, etc.).
- Visit and audit customer systems and facilities as necessary to obtain the information required for technical specification work and to advise customers on best practices regarding equipment safety, performance, operation, and maintenance.
- Analyze, understand, and specify products according to project requirements and customer needs, including the presentation of competitive technical and commercial solutions.
- Evaluate the economic feasibility and return on investment (ROI) of proposed products based on their application at customer facilities.
- Convert technical and commercial solutions into sales opportunities, including the preparation and presentation of technical and/or commercial proposals in collaboration with the sales team.
- Pursue new business opportunities and sales prospects.
- Specify and monitor product trials at customer facilities and prepare analytical reports when applicable.
- Follow up on the commissioning of new systems where the products are utilized.
- Prepare reports related to on-site inspections and/or meetings conducted at customer facilities, clearly identifying opportunities and required actions regarding associated product offerings.
- Participate in commercial negotiations with customers in accordance with guidelines provided by management.
- After a sale is completed, provide follow-up and support throughout engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and related processes to ensure that the delivered solution matches the proposed solution.
- Attend technical meetings and inspect equipment whenever required.
- Ensure compliance with proposal submission schedules.
- Provide support and oversee the implementation of solutions sold to customers.
