Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting the financial health of the organization through meticulous financial management and reporting. This role involves preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and various accounting schedules, conducting month-end closing activities, and generating financial statements. The Accountant also manages budgeting processes, payroll processing, billing administration, vendor payments, and tax compliance. Additionally, the Accountant liaises with tax authorities and auditors, stays updated on accounting standards and regulatory changes, and recommends improvements to accounting policies and procedures. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations such as account analysis, accrual and pre-payments calc, depreciation and amortization calc, and other accounting schedules.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end closing activities i.e. preparation of financial statements such as the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows statements.
  • Maintain completeness and accuracy of accounting records, ensuring proper document filing and adherence to internal controls.
  • Conduct budgeting processes including forecasts and cost projections.
  • Perform payroll processing and ensure that payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy and all local regulations.
  • Manage timely billing administration and preparation of customer invoices, and ensure timely collection of customer payments.
  • Process vendor payments, manage payment schedules, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Manage the preparation and timely submission of BIR and other government-related reports, documentation, and tax compliance requirements.
  • Liase with tax authorities/auditors/consultants during BIR Tax Audit, negotiate tax issues and file appeals, if necessary.
  • Keep up to current on the newest Philippine Accounting Standards, tax rulings, and regulatory updates, and assist in addressing accounting and tax issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies by recommending new procedures or modifications to existing processes as needed.
  • Perform other adhoc tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

 

Education:
Graduate of BS Accountancy


Pre-requisite: 
Filipino citizen 


Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in finance, accounting, audit and tax.


Qualifications:

  • CPA is an advantage but not required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in finance, accounting, audit and tax.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in relevant accounting software and other applications, such as Microsoft office. 
  • Team player and should be flexible in work functions.


Key Competencies:

  • Knowledge of PH accounting standards, statutory accounts preparation, and tax regulations.
  • Knowledge in Payroll Administration is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and offer actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and foster collaborative relationships.
  • A keen attention to detail, coupled with a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
