We are looking to hire a dynamic, all rounded candidate as our Onshore Project Manager for one of our hydropower projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall project costs, schedule, quality and targets related to the “local portion” (i.e. portion of contract awarded to local subsidiary company)


Main Tasks:

  • Representation of the project to the customer, consulting engineer and consortium partners
  • Definition of tasks, functions and roles required for the project
  • Management of the onshore project team
  • Pro-active management of system interfaces
  • Participation in the takeover process (Sales -> Contract Execution) including order intake calculation
  • Preparation of time schedule and work breakdown structure together with the system engineers
  • Organization of project kick-off (in coordination with SALES), installation kick-off and close down meetings
  • Preparation and updating of the project documentation
  • Calling and execution of regular team meetings
  • Support with the implementation of essential site processes and organisation (regular site visits mandatory)
  • Integrated project controlling (progress, schedule and costs)
  • Reporting to the Project Advisory Board and Management
  • Involvement in purchasing concept and major purchasing decisions and execution (in coordination with purchasing), logistics etc.
  • Claim and risk management, crisis management
  • Local support concerning the “off-shore portion” (e.g. customs clearance, work permits, taxes, letter of credit, logistics etc.)
  • Control of supplies for equipment of “local portion”
  • Project controlling related to the “local portion”

 

 

The candidate we seek should have a background in mechanical / electrical engineering with a minimum of 15 years' experience in project management, preferably in green field power projects. This person must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well in English and BM language internally and externally (client, consultant, regulatory authorities, and business partners).

 

Location: Central KL, with 30% of traveling within Malaysia.
